Grand Cognac is Terre de jeux 2024

In 2024, France will have the honour of organising the Olympic Games in Paris. Grand Cognac, awarded Terre de jeux 2024, ensures the provision of three official preparation centres for four sport disciplines for both national and international sport delegations: basketball and handball (Vauzelles Multi-sport Complex), Equestrian sports (Cognac Equestrian centre) and Athletics (Stade Bernard Bécavin Stadium).

Our games preparation centres, for four sports disciplines :

  • EQUESTRIAN SPORT – eventing, dressage, and show jumping CSO: Cognac Equestrian Centre in Cherves-Richemont,
  • BASKETBALL and WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL: Vauzelles Multi-sport Complex in Châteaubernard,
  • HANDBALL: Vauzelles Multi-sport Complex in Châteaubernard,
  • OLYMPIC and PARALYMPIC ATHLETICS: Bernard Bécavin Stadium in Châteaubernard.

The X'eau aquatic centre, designed according to high-quality environmental standards, will be at the athletes disposal providing its sports and leisure area, its fitness area, and its wellness area to aid recuperation.

The region also offers a rich heritage that can be discovered by cycling along the Flow Vélo which runs along the Charente River or by attending the lively events that take place throughout the year.
